Genero gives Georgia State Department of Human Services a reason to smile

Irving, Texas – February 1, 2021 – The State of Georgia Department of Human Services Division of Family and Children Services has deployed a new self-service-based portal application developed with Genero to complement SMILE – its backbone accounting and payment application.

"Our SMI team was impressed with Four Js flexibility and how readily they embraced our methodology. Four Js was a true partner and team player in the success in accomplishing this intricate project".

Web portal solution

SMILE Web Portal, as it is known, is a self-service portal for government employees and vendors that decentralizes several core functions in the accounts department. Those functions are travel requests and reimbursements, time entry and leave requests, retrieve W2s, 1099s, and paychecks, as well as invoicing and payment processing for vendors.

Tight deadline

Systems & Methods Inc (SMI) contacted Four Js to help develop the portal. A close relationship developed between SMI and Four Js Professional Services leading to the project meeting its extremely tight 3-month deadline.

Broadening the user audience

The self-service approach of SMILE Web Portal exposes internal processes to a much broader audience, which frees the accounts department to focus on other core tasks. The portal was developed using Genero Browser Client (GBC), allowing users to access data from a browser anywhere.

About Four Js

Four Js Development Tools was founded in 1992 to save software developers time, effort and money by rendering applications abstract and independent of technology APIs. Applications can be quickly adapted to emerging and future technology trends without the need to rewrite. Applications that were written 20-30 years ago still run today in browsers, on mobile devices, in service oriented architectures and in the cloud with little to no modifications. In this way, developers improve productivity by focusing on innovating in their domain rather than learning, developing and following short-lived technology APIs.

Genero is used by local governments, education, health and public safety agencies, as well as small, medium and global enterprises in markets such as automotive, banking, energy, finance, insurance, manufacturing, media, packaging and retail. Four Js was acquired by Volaris Group in May 2021.

® Four Js and Genero are registered trademarks of Four Js Development Tools Ltd.
